PALM TX or Tungsten T5 - Recommendations?

Hello Everyone,

My first post so please bare with me :)

I've been eyeing the Tungsten T5 since it was released. Well my girlfriend surprised me last weekend with a brand new Tungsten T5. The problem is that I noticed the TX is out and I really like the features.

I was originaly planning on getting the T5 with a wifi card and a 1gb expansion card. Considering the TX has wifi built in.... should I return the T5 and get a TX with the 1gb card?

If I go with the TX I save some cash and I don't have to worry about carrying around the wifi card. But do I lose a great deal on performance or features? Should I keep the tungsten T5 or go with the TX?
Suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

I think you made your decision already....if you want the built in Wifi then it's a no brainer. And considering the T5 has been discontinued by Palm, well that's the icing. But the TX doesn't have a vibrating alarm so if that's a requirement then keep the T5.

The T5 doesn't have vibrating alarms either. Wish it did, but it doesn't. The last model with that feature was the T3.

As far as I know, the biggest difference between the T5 and Tx is the amount of memory, the processor speed and wifi. I have a T5, and have been very happy with it. For my purposes, wifi is a novelty that isn't that critical, but the 160M drive mode is. Of course, the processor in the Tx is slower to compensate for the battery drain by the wifi, but I haven't really seen a good reason to have all of the beef that the T5 processor has, at least not in my applications.

Anyway, I say use the T5 for a while to see if you would use more of the features on it thn you would the Tx, like drive mode, and then do the same with the Tx. You'll knwo which one suits you better...

As a T5 user I've been inclined to see the TX as a retrograde step but it does very much depend on your circumstances. Here in the UK I have easy internet access anywhere I want via my GPRS phone. I could spend all day trying to find a WiFi hotspot. Of course things may be different in the States but, for me, the T5 with it's faster processor and greater memory is the clear winner.
