Palm TX - how to upgrade a larger capacity SD card

Hi. I have a Palm TX with a 256 SD Card with all my files. I want to use a 1 GB or 2 GB SD card instead. How do I easily transfer my applications installed on the card. How do I get Documents to Go files transfered, all my files, photos, video, music, etc. I haven't tried just copying them straight up for fear of messing it up. And I think it needs to be "installed" somewhat because I know, at least for the Documents to Go -- it can recognize if I different card is there.

Anyway, I hope you get the idea. I know how to do so but it'll take a very long process which means "reinstalling" the programs again and I just want a simple way of doing so. Can anyone help? Thank you.
 
I'd DEFINITELY lean toward a Card Reader as opposed to CardExport, especially for numerous and/or large files. You'll actually be doing yourself TWO big favors at the same time:

1. When you drag them to the desktop to a folder named, say, "SDCardBU" IMMEDIATELY burn a CD of that folder!

2. When you drag the contents back to the new card, you'll be perfectly defragged. The information will be linear on the card, all contiguous, with all free space "unspotted." This improves reliability. If you have folders called "Launcher," "Programs," and "DCIM," Load "Launcher" first, "Programs" 2nd, and "DCIM" third. If you have a backup program that backs up to the Card, don't transfer those back from the PC to the new SD Card. Let the TX make fresh backups, and have those be LAST on the card as those files change often.

Also, if you can, KEEP the old Card in a safe place. If anything should happen to the new card, you've got data on the computer, data on a CD and the spare card to fall back on. Excellent! Good luck with the new one - get Panasonic if you can.
 
I use 7-in-1 card reader built into my PC. You can buy flash reader that will fit into a 3-1/2" bay (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1112574&CatId=962) or an exteranal card reader (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=541573&CatId=956). You can pick them up for as little as $10-$15 on sale. I prefer the flash readers as opposed to the software because I can use them for my digital cameras, and other MP3 players as well, much more universal indeed.
