Why do you think that this a problem with the main board? It could just as easily be a loose connection in the ribbon cable that connects the screen to the motherboard. I assume it's no longer under warranty but you should at least talk to Palm service and see if you can pin down the failure. Palm generally does a pretty good job at repairs or exchanging the machine for a refurbished unit.
