Palm T|X tabbing "blue box" question

If this has already been asked and answered please point me in the right direction. Since using my TX I can't scroll around the way I used to in applications. When I scroll I simply move the "blue box" around and then have to select items with the center button. Is there a way to turn this thing off or is this simply the way it is now? Is this new to the TX or is this on all the new palm devices?

I have asked the same question and got no answer. I think we are just screwed. Palms idea of usability seems to have changed to the microsoft method of multiple clicks to do a single task. It really took away from the usefulness of Note Pad now that you cannot scroll up and down with the 5-way button.

With the TX you do have the ability to move down the page (or up) when multiple items are shown, not just from box to box.

Try pressing the DPad on the left or right (you may have to do this more than once based on where you are in the application) and you'll see different things highlighted. Pressing left in many programs produces a "blue" line at the top of the list and a "blue" line at the bottom of the list. Once you have these two lines a press down will give you the next page, a press up will give you the previous page.

Once you are in this mode, pressing the center button will now allow you to change the selection to individual records within the list and a press up/down will move record by record. Once you have the record you want highlighted, another press on the center button will select that record and open it.

But be aware that some third party applications have not been updated to handle this newest navigation mode and may not function this way until they are updated.
