Palm T/X and Razr V3 Bluetooth

Hi Guys,

I am unable to link my Palm T/X with my razr v3 phone (black-cingular) via bluetooth. The phone doesn't detect my palm and vice-versa.

Am i missing some settings?? Kindly help me out.

Thanks,

Hi xusmee,

I have a T5 and a Razr v3 which work just fine together. I can't believe there's a lot of difference with the TX since it runs Palm OS 5.4 the same as the T5.

What have you tried so far in getting the two devices to talk to each other?

Yes, i tried resetting the razr and Palm TX but it still doesn't detect it as a device.
Razr detects my bluetooth headset though. Hence, do i need to download any updater for this from the palm website?

Well, i made both devices discoverable but they don't detect each other at all. I tried using my Palm T/X with another bluetooth enabled phone and it works fine. Also, my razr detects my bluetooth headset. Hence, both razr and Palm work fine indiviually(bluetooth ) but not together.
I tried resetting the Palm and razr but nothing seems to work.

This is rather interesting as other people have been able to pair between the 2 fine.
Is your phone branded (ie. Got labels on it from a phone company, Cingular, Vodafone etc. [Note i dont know of the companies because i'm from Australia :p])
This could have an effect but i'm not sure.

The only other thing is, something on your T|X MAY be conflicting.
Are you trying to connect the 2 using the phone pairing software or are you just trying to get the 2 to detect each other?

Have you got your blue tooth headset turned on while you're trying to pair the Palm and Razr? If so, try turning the blue tooth headset off first.

Your cell phone carrier may have the phone set up to communicate with only one BT device. Check
here to find the codes to get into your phones setup menus and change it. It will be a code similar to this #*123456*1234* Just make note of the original settings and change only one at a time.

Can you be a little more specific on what/where to look ? I did several searches at that forum, but couldn't figure out where to find the info. Thanks.

xusmee,

were you able to figure this out?

I thought you couldn't pair a phone with more than one device.

I have a Palm T|X and a Motorola HS850 headset. (V3 phone)

I find it pretty neat that you can dial contacts with the Palm to your phone... but without being able to use the headset at the same time I think this is a pretty useless feature.

I'm not sure how the phone handles profiles but my understanding is that you should be able to do this. Of course I can only use one paired device at a time. I tried the codes as mentioned but apparently I wasn't entering them in correctly. after *#06# I got a 15# number but wasn't able to get anything to enter. I've been able to use P2K software over a usb cable to do SEEM editing and flashing/flexing.

Just haven't ever found any definite info on what the deal with this is :-/

Thanks guys,
Dave

I have a T5 paired to my Motorola v551 and to several different BT headsets. I use the dialer all the time while I'm connected via the BT headset.

The phone hands off to the headset after I've initiated the dialer on the T5.

What you can't do is use the T5 dialer to initiate a second dial while connected via the BT headset.....what happens is only one BT connection at a time - that's correct but you can pair to many different devices. Only one will work at a time but if both are "discoverable" then they will hand off to the next device at the appropriate time.

I played around with it before I posted. I found I could dial then open (turn on) the headset and it worked.

Is that how you were doing it? I found this pretty cumbersome and defeats the purpose for me.

I'd like to be wearing the headset when I dial. I don't care if it disconnects the headset temporarily while it's dialing. As long as I don't have to play musical chairs.

My headset is on (not using a Moto headset that comes on by opening, using a Planatronics) in standby mode waiting for a signal from the V551. I use the T5 to dial the number - the V551 does, the T5 disconnects immediately after performing it's duty to dial and then before the phone rings - it pings the headset and I'm listening to it ring on the other end.

The Moto headset with the flip out mic that doubles as the "on" might not work this same way. Hence one reason Motorola is no longer using that style?

okay I'm buying a platonics. if you don't mind, which model do you have? I assume any model would work but maybe it's better to be safe than sorry in this case.

thanks,
dave
