palm pixi for sprint (sprint representatives)?

i want the palm pixi from sprint,
and right now i have a family plan with calling and unlimited texting.
if i got a palm pixi from Ebay, and activated it on my account,
will i have to switch to a data plan? Because I really don't want one,
i just want my same plan.
Please a sprint representitive answer:)
