Paintshop Pro - How to paste a transparent GIF into image and maintain its transparency?

You can't paste GIF on one frame (background). You need to make GIF, frame to frame, including the background... $hitty job... :)

Please read all the text before answering.

I am creating an image using PaintShop Pro - I want to Paste an already existing transparent gif into the image on a new layer, and keep the areas of the transparent image transparent, so that the background shows through.

Everytime I do this though, the image is pasted as a normal 'block' image without having a transparent background.

How can I paste the transparent GIF into the image, please, and maintain its transparency? I have tried 'Paste as transparent selection' but this does not work.

Thanks
