Painted Inner Fairing Or Not

Couldn't agree more on the installing the painted one.

However, the OP has no time in painting it because he ordered it which means the hard part is already done. The labor might be a bit if he has the dealer do it. But because it's not a hard thing to do, I'd do it over a few hours on the weekend, not the winter. Let's not spook the guy, it's an easy job!

Do it. It will look WAY better than the bare plastic on it now.

I went a different direction After agonozing about what color painted inner to get I bought the Hells Foundry 'soft dash' ..Best money I spent cosmetically and no glare, no heat reflection and NO DUST!

BigDaddyMike...that's really nice, but I think your bike is helluva nice anyway! That softdash is cool, but how is it to clean?

no glare from the sun, if it gets dusty it's probably cuz the rest of the bike is dirty. In my opinion one of the best things you can do (for looks)

I agree. Mine's painted Vivid Black and it doesn't get dusty BEFORE my tank or tourpack.
It was one of the best visual mods I did to my bike. Looks finished now, especially if you're parked next to someone with a stock inner.
The only problem I had - your stock gauges will look week....more $$$$$$$!
BTW I did mine 2 years ago with a rattle can. Still looks perfect! No orange peel since I wet sanded between coats.

Your flat black inner fairing will fade eventually. Putting on the painted one looks a whole lot better. I would save it for an off season job, it will take some time to complete the swap.
