Painted Inner Fairing Or Not

I sure haven't noticed any glare but it's also true that I very rarely look down at the instruments, I wear good sunglasses and I have my eyes on the road 99.9% of the time. I have chrome bezels too and I don't notice any glare off of them either. I'm 6'3" tall and maybe my angle is different than for some.....the only annoyance I have is the fact that my radio display panel is unreadable for the most part. I can't read the time in particular. The black digital numbers against the dark grayish background and the panel being virtually straight up and down vertically and my eyes being way the hell above it...well, I can't read the darn thing. It's in a shadow most of the time too. If the sun were directly on it I might be able to read it but that rarely happens.....I'd have to be traveling west at the crack of dawn perhaps. Any known fixes for this problem?

I'd like to have a Pewter Pearl inner, but I'd be tempted to install a new set of gauges.Just too much cash right now, maybe next winter.

2009 e/g classic red hot sunglo with painted inner fairing... can you really say black looks better????
I have added lots to the bike but the #1 thing they say, they love the fairing......
by far my favorite addition....
The key to a successful install is to take pic's of everything...i took over 100 pic's of the dismantle and it came in handy....

I'm looking for a tutorial on removing/painting the inner fairing as the bike that I'm buying has significant sun bleaching on the inner fairing.

Thanks if you can provide this - also is this a DIY project? Or will rattle canning the inner fairing spell disaster?

Thanks,
Tim
