Check some paint samples, but taupe, grays sounds good. Add any other colors in accessories, like a bowl of apples, etc. The flooring are you going wood? Medium and countertop, do you want butcherblock? Or if it's laminate, get some samples and see what you like best. If you can afford the solid countertop check into what would work best for you.
