Painful Lumps on armpits

I am a 27 year old woman and yesterday my armpits felt a bit tender but nothing major, I just thought maybe i had a few ingrown hairs or something... Then today I woke up and my armpits feel all swollen and bruised and they have hard painful lumps under each of them, only 2 under left one and 3 under right one... they are visible and red and very painful to touch... Im thinking they are swollen lymph nodes but i have not been sick nor do i feel sick at all... Is this something i should see a doctor about ASAP or should i give it a few days and see what happens? I am scared to shave or wear deoderant which is not great when it is so hot but i don't want to risk making whatever it is worse... Any ideas?

A few extra details they may or may not be related...
I have had a few red spots break out on my arms and mid section in the last few days.. they look like bites or pimples but are sore and not itchy..
My neck feels a tad stiff and sore but not sure if that is due to a crappy sleeping position last night...
My armpits have been oddly itchy for a few weeks now...

Any input is muchly appreciated... Thank you
 
Swollen lymph nodes are usually a sign of illness, but there are usually other symptoms like fever involved.

I would make an appointment with a doctor for a few days from now. If it goes away, cancel. If it gets worse, bump it up.
 
COULD it be an ingrowing hair? My girlfriend had it once. Don't get me wrong she didn't have long armpit hair! It had just broken the surface and grown back in causing a sore lump. I managed to pluck the hair out for her much to her relief! Best Wishes,

I actually went to the doctor and i had infected glanRAB... not sure how i got it under both arms but a short course of antibiotics cleared it up quick smart :)
