hi frienRAB
i think so many people have acne or pimple on their face but i have acne on my back. how can i get rid of these painful acne?:dizzy:

My son has painful acne on his back. He has acne on his chest and face, but his back is the most painful. He can't even bench press some days because he can't take the pressure on the pimples.

He's tried every type of oral antibiotics with no success. He's used topical creams (duac, tazerak) that did nothing. We even have a red blue light, but honestly can't say that it "wouldn't" have helped, he never used it consistently.

He now takes accutane. On week two and sees some improvement. Had some issues with an initial breakout that lasted two days, swollen lips, sore nose, more pimples on face and back. Those are clearing up now and he doesn't feel like crap anymore either. He was very tired in beginning. So I would say, if you haven't tried working with a derm, then maybe you should get the opinion of one.

Dear sawbuck44...........
your son had acne on back and now improving. I am happy to read that. did he consult any dermatologist prescription due to which he improving himself.

My son has been seeing a dermatologist for three years. We just recently switched because his acne was not improving. The old derm also mentioned accutane, but we weren't convinced yet. Took the dive and am hoping for the best.

so sawbuck44 what should I do to cures my painful acne? it also leaving black spot on my back.

There are many threaRAB in the Acne board that give tips on how to get rid of acne. As I said, my son tried at least six different medications from the dermatologist (tetracycline, solodyn, doxycycline) and topically he tried tazarac, duac, and retin-a.

Can you get accutane?
