Hi i have been in pain for about 8 months now hands, back, knees,my right hand side and my neck and shoulder, i waken early hours with back pain and knee pain and struggle to get out of bed in mornings swelling has started in my legs and feet and hands, and have resorted to taking pain killers every day i work full time in a local colleage running the student shop on my own this is a very busy place as you can emagin but i love it and have been doing it 10 years now, however serving, even stocking out is now painfull for me ,is there any stronger painkillers out there that can help me,?

Yes there are. But first you really should get in with your GP and see what is causing all the pain. That will be the first step. Then your doctor would/will be able to get to the root of the pain-which is more important than just treating it.

Sounds like you may have rheumatoid arthritis. Did this pain come on slowly or all at once. Have you had any tick bites of late? You do not say what you are taking for pain so it would be hard to say if there is something stronger and if painkillers are what you need. You may need an anti-inflammatory and or pain meds or special arthritic meds. Make an appointment with a physician or a rhuematologist. Sincerely, searchin

Hi thanks for reply, the pain started about a year ago in my knees and has over the past year went into hands, arms, neck,my back is the most painfull but only through night and in morning when i awaken, i have not had any bites or been on any hoildays for about two years now, i have been taking panadol extra and ibrufin, I thought it might be just the type of work i do as i have to lift cases of drinks and other items most of the working day,do you know of any other tablets that might help ease the pain. Thanks

As far as OTC-over the counter meds are concerned you are doing about the best you can. Careful with the Ibuprofen as it can cause heart problems as well as ulcers. If you want something different you will have to go to your doc. He will evaluate your pain and go from there. Try to go as long as you can taking the Panadol. Taking stronger medications brings with it a whole new set of problems. Don't get me wrong I believe in pain relief and I am taking morphine for chronic pain. Keep me posted! Sincerely, searchin
