Pain inside the top of my belly button ( I can feel something in there too)

That's the one my husband has too. The doctor told him to wait to have surgery and he has it checked at every doctors appointment. What did he tell you to do about it?

I am having pain on the inside of my naval its coming from the top. I can feel some sort of like Cartladge or fatty tissue there is that normal is there fatty tissue/cartilage on the inside top part of the belly button ??

Help!
The pain is a burning pain and when I bend down to get something turns into a sharp pain

He told me it isn't anything dangerous unless it gets caught on something / wrapped around it self. He also said you can live with it but surgery is an option.

I was also told to make an appointment with a surgeon where they will look into more detail with it Xtray/MRI and we will go from there

Update - I went to see my PCP this week and she said I have a ventral hernia and not to wait any longer to get it fixed as it could cause a bowel obstruction. So I will enjoy my weekend then Monday I will call the surgeon. Yes...I am procrastinatinating!

Yep it does sound like a hernia. Does your belly button protrude at all? If it does, that's a hernia. You can have live with a hernia for a long time but it sounds like you should have yours checked. Sometimes it can wrap around the intestines. Good luck

Good luck NC Transplant with your upcoming surgery. Not all hernias are in desperate need to repair them. A 2nd opinion might hold you off for a while but the surgeon is right, it can cause problems.
400x that's what my husband was told also. Have it checked every 3 months or so. The doctor knows when its time to operate. Stay well, Linda

After my gall bladder was removed, I had a pain right above my belly button and then there was a slight protrusion. I went in and had a contrast cat scan and I do have a small hernia. The surgeon recommended I have it fixed. But life came along and we had to move (I was pretty careful about not lifting anything heavy but ya'll know how that goes). Sometimes when I am standing up, it feels really hard in that spot. Now that we have moved, I am going to see my general practitioner then probably go have it fixed.

I got checked for a hernia last month and there was no signs unless the normal hernia exam doesnt find this particular hernia. I noticed when I lift something heavy too I get burning/sharp pain around my waist line.
