Four years ago I started out with a nagging pain in what I thought was my left hip when I layed on either side to sleep. Within six months the pain was alot worse. As a passenger in a vehicle, it hurt to sit. I went to a sports med doctor who did x-rays and a MRI and said nothing was wrong. I had 3 epidural injections in a 2-3 month period. That evening I would be in excruciating pain and then I would be almost pain free for a few weeks, but the pain always came back. I went to a chriropractor who said my hips were not level, he did this and that and had me put my left ankle on my right leg and push down on the left knee. It was very painful to do this, but I did it and it did not help. I went and had accupuncture done. It did not phase it. I tried a stretching program, no results. I went to a neurologist. He did a nerve test and said it was ok and put me on a seizure med. It hasn't helped and he says I have chronic pain (said it was not my siatic). The more I do, walking or excersize, the worse the pain is at night. The pain sometimes goes down my leg. I can't find anything on the internet. What is my next step? Will I be in pain for the rest of my life?

I got the exact same thing and my docter tells me we may never know what it is. So many nerves, so many tests, and a bunch of stress at the end of it all.

I hate to think there is no one who has found any relief. Has anything at all helped?

Well, it sure sounRAB like you are describing me:D. Has your Dr. ever said anything about your SI joint or your Piriformis area? Or what about Bursitis? I know that any type of movement, esspecially bending, leaning, twisting and lifting all can irritate your SI and the Piriformis area. I tell my Dr. that by 2 PM on the weekdays, my day is over and the pain just continues to worsen throughout the night. Then I can't sleep long enough, because the pain even worsens, when I sleep. But, on the weekend, when I can just lay around, the pain is a lot better. I have all 3 of the above problems, and the pain wraps around my hips, like you mentioned.

As you are finding out, it is very frustrating to go through all the injections, P/T, Chiro. etc. and still no relief. I thought I had tried all the injections, but have just found out that they can do "trigger" injections as well as bursitis injections. I am also going to try wearing an SI belt. Who knows, maybe there will be some relief;).

Anyway, I wanted to let you know that I am thinking and praying for some relief for you.

I appreciate your info. I'm going to check into the SI. What am I looking for ? Thanks also for the prayer. I have been praying to be healed.
