Pain in hip?

Okay...I have a question and this has been bothering me for a while.

I have a constant pain in my left hip. If I bend to low or when I am in bed it really begins to hurt. If I sneeze it sends jolts of pain through the hip.

I have no idea what this can be. I am young (18) and really have no idea why this is happening.

I work out and am not overweight. I dont know if it is football because I havent played since last Fall. It happens a lot when I stay in one place for to long. I have no idea why this is happening hahaa...

Any remedys for hip pain? I am in Asia right now doing study abroad in university so I dont know about a doctor.

Second, my dad died of terminal colon cancer and on my moms side her brother got cancer. Should I get tested soon? Thanks.

I think that you should schedule a trip home and visit your primary care doctor here. When does your semester in Asia finish? You can have a scan done to see if anything shows on your hip. You may also have a herniated disk in your lower back. You do not need pain in your lower back to have symptoms of herniated disk. I know I just went through three weeks of severe pain in my right butt and hip and it turns out that I have a herniated disk sitting right on my nerve root.
