Pain in chest when not drinking?

When eating, and swallowing the food, I always have pain if I am NOT drinking anything with any food.

So basically, whenever I eat anything whatsoever I have to be drinking something with it, or else I have chest pains. Why is this happening? Thanks!

Sound like you might need to get your throat stretched a bit. Sounds crazy, I think there was just someone on here that was talking about that too. You have to see a GI Doc and have him check it out. If that is what it is they they put you to sleep and somehow they stretch your esophgous (sp wrong) and it is fine for several years.
If that is what it is..go get it checked...Good luck!

Are you taking small to normal size bites of food and chewing at least 20 times before swallowing? If not, give it a try, food needs to be chewed to mush before going down the hatch!

Is the food on the dry side? If so, you may not be producing enough saliva to make food moist enough to swallow. If this is the case, drink along with eating.

A spastic esophagus could be the problem. If so, have a hot drink along with food. Heat will help relax esophagus.
