For the past 4 weeks I have been involved in group training & whilst I needed no proof that I am unfit, I am concerned about the pains that develop in my lower back (in the kidney area...both sides) during intense cardio exercise. The sensation is like the kidneys are struggling to take in the increased rate of blood flow, causing a great deal of pressure.
My trainer seems to think it's lower back/upper-glute pain and has me stretching those areas before exercise and when one of the crippling attacks occur. Whilst it seems to help, I feel it is only due to 'time out' reducing the heart rate.
Has anyone else experienced this sensation during intense exercise and if so, how did you resolve it or did it resolve itself?
