p990 from dubai work in usa ?

hey, i was going to get the p990 in dubai at the duty free and i was jsut wondering if the middle east model will work with cingular wireless in los angeles, usa ?

i currenlty have the m600i. do u think its worth upgrading tothe p990i. any other models out there for me? want the n95 but cant wait till next year

havent used in usa yet...... it worked fine in uk..... but want a change before i go back to usa.....

neither will work as well as they did in the UK, since both the M600 and P990 lack GSM 850, which is one of the bands we use in NA. However, if you are in the city than either phone should work fine.
