Yep. Y'all guessed it right, 'parents' - and I use the term *very* loosely - are ALL pussies here in the States. I'm sick to fucking DEATH of them and their entitlement attitudes. Looks like it's bleeding over to your neck of the woods. Welcome to the American middle-class, 50-hour a work week, tax-paying child-free HELL! And it's only just beginning...

As someone who is supposedly well-versed in language, you really should know that spelling variations occur among dialects withing the same language (i.e. using 'z' where you think there should be an 's'). But I guess your way is the only way.

Poor little traumatized Nancy. So now the kid is looking up to 'dad' who's making crap up to get money off the school? I guess USA and UK don't have the market cornered on this type of BS.

HAH! Suffering nightmares! What a little whimp. I think the parents have bigger fish to fry if hes so 'tramatized'

FUCK!

I once wrote fuck on my school box in first grade... you know the boxes that elementary kids have that they keep their rulers, pencils, erasers, etc.. Well my teacher was helping me look for something and she saw it... reported my ass to the principal... and I got a paddling.... two whacks... the second one because I didn't cry... no third because my parents would've sued the FUCK outta his self-righteous ass

Traumatized and having nightmares - LOL. This tough-mouthed kid is genuinely a pussy. To the pussified-dad: What ever happened to having a little dignity and self-respect? I would never admit to being such a pussy, especially to the media.

If the kid shouted FUCK YOU on the playground then how is it any different to get him to write it out on paper? He acknowledges the mistake and will see what is and is not acceptable.
I sincerely hope the family of said child reads these comments and realizes that they are a bunch of whiny, overprotective douchebags.

"TX Gal

...and the pussification of America continues..."

Its from Australia you stupid cow.

I hope the worst(expulsion as I would not want a bad influence like this child anywhere near my future kids) in this situation for this FUCKing kid and his FUCKing family...OMG I'm gonna have nightmares and its gonna scar me for the rest of my life!!!

Its a pitty we can't cane the little brat. And these parents wonder why their kids grow up to have no respect for authority... including theirs.

As for a shrink claiming it was 'madness,' does anyone else see the irony in that? Oh well. A good media quip from an expert is always good reading.

Bah!

the parents are dilusional if they believe the big problem is the punishment. the fact that the child knew and used the word is the real issue. if he can say it, then he can write it out to explain the behavior. as well, defending the kid by saying he is having nightmares is no excuse for exposing other kids to bad manners and language. pathetic.
as for the psychologist, what kind of fucking idiot is he?!

Might as well learn how to spell it as well! Does nobody even care that a 5 year old swore? No, let's worry about how the teacher handled it instead of addressing the real issue.

Perhaps the ones here to blame would be the parents. I sure doubt he picked that word up from his fellow first graders. And the kid is "traumatized" and "suffering from nightmares" over this? I bet that's some psychobabble bullshit the psychiatrist made up just to make a point. If the kid is using that word on the playground, I hardly believe he's suffering from nightmares because he had to write it.

If its so traumatizing writing it to his parents, then why was it so easy for him to say in the playground. What the teacher did was appropriate, and FAR LESS then what I received when I was a kid as punishment. The parents need to take responsibility, and that Child psychologist Michael Carr-Gregg needs to get out more.

Most of us here in the middle USA would agree with this teacher's actions! I applaud!

"This is what we call a Sympathetic Ruse."

Who's 'we'? Google search for "sympathetic ruse" came back with 5 hits. Maybe it's all the rage among people without internet access? Like the Amish?

;)
