Oxford Murders - Cineworld

This film is released this weekend nationwide apparently. I've read the book so would quite liek to see the film plus John Hurt and Elijah Wood have been on practically every programme flogging the film to death so I thought I'd quite like to take a look.

As such I went onto the Cineworld website to check times for this weekend - seems like quite a big film release so assumed it would be on everywhere. However, it's not on at my local so I checked to see if it was on at another Cineworld.

There is no mention of the film whatsoever on the Cineworld website.

Does anyone know why? Has rambo style incident occurred between the distributors and Cineworld or have they jsut been daft and forgotten to put the film on the website? Any light shed would be most appreciated.

I've been looking foward to this film too, but I've been slightly confused/worried about it. There has been little promotion in the papers, TV or newspapers. Also, none of the review sites (Empire and Rotten Tomatoes) have any reviews on it. I think I might have been put back for a while. I'm going to try asking James King or Mark Kermode on the radio tomorrow afternoon to see if they've got any answers.

It's only on at nine Vues this weekend as far as I can see but there seem to be more Odeons playing it. It's not reviewed in Time Out yet, which usually means the distributors haven't screened it for the press - but The Times reviewed it today and said it was "utterly stupid but strangely endearing." (Two stars)
