Owners of Honda Elements, any downsides? How does it work in the snow?

We are looking to buy the EX Honda Element AWD. We have a 20 month old and will be trying for another child this summer. I like the clam shell design, the stain resistant seats, the wipeable floors, etc. It's a lot of money and I want to make sure we know what we are getting into. Thank you
 
my son has one and he loves it. we get a lot of snow in canada and he has not had a problem getting where he wants to go.i love the element so much better than his summer car. i feel safe in it and i'm a nervous nellie in any car.we call it his fake hummer.
