Maybe it would be better for someone considering buying the tax foreclosed house to simply gift it another way, such as charging the original owner say rent of $1 per year or some such thing? With an understanding that the original owner is responsible for payment of annual tax and upkeep of the property? A gift in all but name if you see what I mean. Thanks.
It's just that we might (might!) be in a position to do this for someone as the home in question is CHEAP and still occupied by the previous owner - probably illegally.....but we don't know the intricacies of it all? We're in Ireland not the States - not that it matters I guess.
