I am looking to buy a new car and I'm seriously considering an SUV because I like them and they are much safer than any Scion or other small car.I'm 18 and I plan on putting about 25K down as a down payment. So I'm wondering what your thoughts are on these trucks and if you have any advice or problems since you've owned it? Also would the insurance be manageable on Long Island in New York? Yea I already know about how much gas they drink because my dad has on 05 H2 so I already know. Plus it will be my money not my parents money and yes I will be able to afford it. So all I want is if there are any prevalent problems worth mentioning to a new buyer?
I cant help you with the insurance, sorry, but will give you an advice. Unless you want to buy a gas guzzling, unsafe, and frankly poor to drive car, go for any of the three you mentioned. On the other hand, if you want to look cool, (and I know how you feel, I am also 18 lol) than you can buy a great deal of cars for the same price as those SUVs. I would go for a sports car, because they mostly stand out just as much as an H2, Range Rover, or an Escalade. They are even much safer, and yes you might think I sound ridiculous, but the small Toyota IQ has 5 star crash test ratings, while the Range Rover has 4 stars. Yes I know IQ is not a sports car, but it is just to show that small cars can be a lot safer. You say that you live in New York. Do you honestly think an SUV is a good idea? I live in Queens, and will surely not get one. But maybe thats just me. Good Luck though
