degrees outside... read the rest-? and I went into the Lewisville Huffines Dodge Dealership in Texas. My Husband found an 2008 Dodge that he liked. My Father cosigned with him for credit reasons, but the transaction had not gone through. They allowed my Husband to go ahead and let him take the truck home. My Father has been best friend's with one of the Service Manager's for over 10 years. I have a Chrysler Sebring that needed some things fixed, so I left it there last night to be fixed today.
I went home and looked up the exact same truck in our area because I felt like we could have gotten a better deal. I realized that I could buy the same truck with 6,000 less miles and a 5.7L Hemi engine versus a 4.6 Flex Fuel. I took in the comparison this evening. My Husband, Son and Daughter waited in the car. They got approval back for my Father to finance the vehicle. I tried to get them to come down on the price $1,000 and they wouldn't budge.
So, I told them that I needed to get my car because we were going to leave the truck and I would leave my phone number if they changed their minds. They went on to say that my car was locked in the service area, and that if we had decided not to buy the truck to leave it there. This left us at a dealership with no vehicle. I told them that I wanted my car and I knew they could get it out and the dealer started yelling at me. (I was calm, upset, but calm because I didn't want to make them too mad because I knew they had my car and I dont' want them to do anything to it)
Then he said that I would have to call my Father to come get us or I could take my 5 year old, 4 month old, and Husband and start walking. It was 32 degrees!!!!
What would you have done? Should I have called the police? What would you do now? Contact a Supervisor/ Manager? I went on to lie and tell them politely that we were going to go ahead and buy the truck only because we had no option as we had no vehicle. (we signed nothing though) Do I have legal options since they would not give me my car? And the harrassment?
I am so disgusted and hurt. Just a reference the vehicle was a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 Lone Star Edition with 19,000 miles 4.7L Flex Fuel on it for $17,991 and it is certified.
The other truck was a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 Lone Star Edition with 13,000 miles 5.7Hemi for $16,999.
Thanks in advance.
They have not done any work on the car. They haven't even looked at it. The car was not a trade in.
