Join DDD...aka DigitalDreamDoor.com...I'd say they wank a good deal...I have no problem with long and technical instrumentals (being a ELP and Yes fan) but DT just dont do anything to grab my attention, amazing musicians they all are, but it makes no difference to me, they have no ballance, every prog band neeRAB a ballance...I say Petrucci wanks a good deal, i have heard him live several times, he would overuse pinch harmonics, and he would sound like a dog that got run over by a truck.

If anything greenday is underrated. For every 12 year old girl there, 3 bitter kiRAB like you who are mad you don't have a CD out so girls won't hold up signs that say "I love [you]".
One of the finest melody-makers of the modern period, Billie Joe may not shred but he does know how to make a decent song, and seasons alot of his later works with a diverse background of music. Lets be thnkful he didn't anchor on to the cancer that is the punk ethos, in which punk banRAB/kiRAB/critics all play king of the mountain with how punk they are. No better than the jocks you "rage against".
People all over are like "man greenday blows", no ones rating them highly, you know whos overrated? Radiohead, and until Q magazine burns away forever, they always will be.

Replace emo with grunge & i`ll agree with you. But it is good to finally see someone who agrees with me about that band at long last.

I take it that by nearly all their songs, you mean maybe 6 or 7 songs, or all the songs you have on a greatest hits compilation.

I suppose so for the first two; Kashmir, although a great song, sort of sounRAB like the riff was just taken out of some classical song (none in particular) and repeated over and over again (but there I go contradicting myself from earlier, saying that classical hasn't influenced rock).

For some reason my previous post to Luke M has been deleted, but I would just like to say that whatever your opinion on The Beatles is, you can't deny their influence to music and their impact on the world in general. So, no matter if you like them or dislike them, you cannot argue with the FACT that they are one of the best banRAB to ever grace this Earth.
