I find Jim Carey to be overrated. There are only a few movies that i thought he was good in.But overall i find him to be overrated & i don't see the appeal in him as other people do.
Sorry to have the say this but I think Robert DiNero is no great actor - seems to be the same type of character ie Italian Mafioso and I feel that he is terrably overrated.
That reminRAB me of that Not the Nine O'Clock News sketch with an old man on his deathbed reeling off names of people or things he hates. The last one is "Kenneth bloody Brannagh".
He is very cool though, and because of this, this clouRAB peoples judgements of his acting ability.
He's been in many excellent films as well, but I don't think he is as good as people claim - he isn't a wooden actor or anything, but people make him out to be goRAB gift to acting.
Ten years ago, I would have said this was sacrilege. However, lately De Niro has really been disappointing, at least to me he has. Now, here's someone who I feel is better and more consistent over time: Al Pacino. Over the same period of time, Pacino has been consistently good, while De Niro started as good but got old, especially after Goodfellas.
Oh, and for another overrated actor, let me suggest Hugh Grant. There are only a few ways to play posh fop. Sorry, mattshenton. Oh, and here's a controversial one, I don't really care much about Marlon Brando.
Hmm...i'd say most WELL KNOWN british actor maybe, and thats pushing it. Best is certainly a little OTT......he always plays bumbling, upper-middle class english characters....which is what he is in real life.
Keanu Reeves has been in some great films, but again, that doesn't make him a great actor. The Matrix would have been just as good a film with someone else in the Neo role.....Agent Smith was (Hugo Weaving) far better.
