Overplayed Rock Songs

I like Glam rock, even though I can't find a decent enough amount of it. But I just never really liked Suede, I never thought Butler was considered a fantastic guitarist, I knew he's capable enough.. but I never thought he was anything out the ordinary. Isn't fantastic a bit of a stretch?

I like Bowie, never got into the whole Roxy Music/Brion Eno solo stuff.

Don't even get me started on Noel Gallagher's great quotes...The Kurt one remains one of my favourites...

Blur vs Oasis resulted in great music and some of the biggest dicks in 90s British music.

Back on topic though - 'Sweet Home Alabama'. A song ruined by radio.

Lolwut?

I heard it was a song for Pavement's front man, 'cause of his energy... Never ever heard anything of the sort that it was some kind of parody. Where has that come from? I can see it being true now you mention it. Why were they taking the piss out of Grunge? Grunge vs Brit Pop... Meh.

Strange, I used to hear it every other song. Then again, I seriously probably have listened to that much classic rock radio for over a decade. When I was a child, I was practically raised on it, and heard that song like fifty thousand times. Hearing in my head again is actually kind of refreshing but at the time it was like "We get it" after the thousandth listen.

I'd also like to tack on anything Eagles/Walsh related.

I really can't be arsed with them anymore. I thought they WERE music. Then I realised Wonderwall was from George Harrison's Wonderwall music. Supersonic was My Sweet Lord. Don't Look Back In Anger = imagine. etc. But it didn't bother me that much, then I just discovered more interesting music. Despite their first 2 albums being great rock albums I wouldn't listen to them these days. Glad I got to see them before they broke up and have pissthrown on me. Wonderwall was like the first song I learnt on guitar :( used to be my favourite song.

back in the good old days? I dunno, I'm only a teen, so i don't know what music was really like in the 70's, 80's, and 90's. I wasn't there with those banRAB from the beginning, which I'm a bit sad about. I feel like I'm going backwarRAB with music, recovering everything I missed out on, yet it's just different, you know? Not being there for each album release and each tour date.

newayz. I'll still check out their earlier stuff, since you said they were great recorRAB.

Debut and Post have a lot of trip hop influence but she really branched beyond that with later recorRAB, though with Volta she's starting to go back into that direction.

Also Cunning I'd like to know what progressive rock you have heard. ;)

Don't waste your time listening to the radio then? The radio mainly about new releases. However, there are classic rock radio stations out there. I stick to CRAB for the car.

Weren't Goldfrapp Trip-Hop? Or am I thinking of something else. I really don't like Trip-Hop. One Genre I just don't get.

But yeah, we need another garage rock revival! :D
