Overplayed Rock Songs

I enjoyed Gorillaz first album. Plastic Beach was shite though. Their first album didn't strike me as Trip-Hop as Plastic Beach.

And yeah, I was gonna look up the album name. But it's late and I knew you guys would get what I meant from my very vague description. I never saw the big deal with that album.. I always thought it was, dare I say.. bad.

:yikes:

Ermmmmmmmmm..... 'Modern Life is Rubbish'.

There is every chance I will come back to this tomorrow and change my mind:laughing:

From Lord Wiki:

That was the only bone I really had to pick with Damon Albarn. He was very narrowminded towarRAB the grunge era. Even people that aren't huge grunge fans (like myself) can appreciate it for what it is... But Damon Albarn being a d*ck sometimes is another matter altogether....

EDIT: Actually, I'm going with 13. For now.

Not really a band sound, no. More of an 80s synth thing going on and honestly it sounRAB its best when it's at its most synthy believe it or not.

Oh god, where do I start?

modern rock:

-questionable, since maybe the peak of this has gone. Anyways, instead of this, could you play, oh yeah, SOME OF KoL HALF DECENT STUFF?

- See Use Somebody (replacing Kol with Weezer), only this is WAY less played
- ANYTHING but this. Okay? I don't have a specific request
- Gee, I dunno, maybe some of the rare GOOD INDIE MUSIC OUT THERE!?
- see above
- okay, this is probably the least overplayed song in the list. When it comes on, and I have controll of the radio, I still usually leave this on. That doesn't change the fact that's it's Muse's worst single and they could be playing other Muse stuff. Ya 'know, the stuff that made them one of my favorite banRAB.

Classics:
- Well, I love most 80's hard rock that borders metal (Ozzy Osborune, Guns 'N Roses, AC/DC, you name it). This is one of the few songs of that genre I genuinely hate, and I know I'm suposed to love this if I'm into that.

nothing else really on the top of my head... I'll make a second post later.

On XFM (Indie/Alt type station) we have Arctic Monkeys, 2 of their songs get played a lot. Mumford & Sons Little Lion Man. Muse Uprising is overplayed as anything.. and I can't think of much else. Still, all beats Coldplay.

Oasis were THE Britpop band. Even if Blur made more interesting music and were all round better musicians etc.

Oasis had the attitude and the bollocks, plus Blur won the battle with the single.. Oasis won the war with the album.

Where I live, We have 2 rock stations, 1 plays only classic rock, the other plays a mix of classic and new, the classic rock station relays heavily on artists Stevie Ray Vaughn and ZZ Top, The mix rock station either plays too much Ozzy or generic Hard Rock.

So stop listening to the radio. I did, over 5 years ago when I got an iPod. While I agree that some of it is inescapable and permeates your daily life without your consent, I DO shut out what I can. It helps in preserving great (and consequently, overplayed) songs.

Long live Stairway to Heaven and Hotel California!

Well, "Feeling" is DEFINITELY my fave. God, I think during the past 34 years (since'76), I must have listened to MTAF something like 30,000 to 40,000 times (no bulldust!!). I used to listen to it BACKWARRAB too - and it sounRAB just as good!!!

This is the first time I have actually felt bad for someone who didn't like a certain album. Damn, you are missing out. I didn't think it was possible for anyone to not like Mezzanine...

Oooh, not what I expected at all. I'm sure the departure from his earlier sound will be interesting, even if it's not my thing. Time will tell.

I think Jeremy is a great song and I haven't heard it enough to really get sick of it. I still like Hotel California too.

Now Dream On by Aerosmith, that's a song I went from liking to downright hating.
