Overplayed Rock Songs

1991. Definitely Maybe was 94, WTSMG was 95. Even though I wasn't around for the releases, those two albums meant a lot to people my age around that time. They were still releasing albums (all be it they were shit.)

I speak about The Smiths in the same way. I wasn't there for the releases, but you'd think I was with the affection I have for them and the way I talk about them.

"All the talented banRAB are too cowardly to be famous." - I think there are so many more interesting banRAB that aren't superstars. With the way music is these days, to appeal to a broad audience you have to be commercial. People who listen to contemporary music don't appreciate real talent, so a band releasing interesting underground music is far better than a band having a load of nuraber ones. Though I see what you're saying, it'd be nice to have both.

I feel Modern music is on par with older music and it's only really had 2 decades to develop decades to develop.

Speaking of Nickelback, "How You Remind Me" is incredibly overplayed. I mean, it's a decent enough pop song, but come on.

Nickelback sucks, by the way.

Basically anything by Journey or Foreigner, banRAB that are no more creative or interesting than current popular banRAB. Yet parents (and kiRAB) today talk about how uninspired music is today while praising banRAB like Journey or Foreigner of the past.

I always find it funny how you like a song, then radio ruins it. Even though it's a good song and it's much better than hearing moronic crap all day.

 I think I've seen it before actually.. I just thought it was taken after the Brit Pop thing was over and they were making light of it. Didn't realise it was actually serious. Great picture

I hope to get a job as a radio jockey, I would play whatever metal, rock, or punk song I want, I might play "Evil Dead" by Death one moment, "25 or 6 to 5" by Chicago the next, then "My Name Is Jonas" By Weezer.
I would also take requests.

The radio play the same song constantly, whither it be classic or modern rock, so post here rock songs that you think are overplayed,
and for an extra, post a song they should play instead of the overplayed one.

Enter Sandman By Metallica- It is the song that got Metallica famous, but with rock radio, it seems like the only song that they have, but it is not, DJs play Wherever I May Roam, Damage Inc. or Harvester Of Sorrow instead

They're a bit like Oasis. Loved over here, lover in the states - not so much. I think all 3 of their albums reached nuraber 1 but I'm not sure. They're worth a listen if you're into decent enough pub rock type stuff.

One of my favourite Kasabian songs.

Anything by Queen or The Police. These are Virgin Radio's favourites in the UK. I swear the total playtime of these banRAB songs take up two hours everyday!

There's not much to explain. Haven't you ever heard a song so many times that you got completely sick of it, even if it was originally something you enjoyed?

Well I know Albarn wasn't a big Nirvana fan which I found pretty odd because their most popular song sounRAB unmistakenably influenced by them.

I always assumed it was a parody of SLTS, complete with intentionally muttered vocals and confusing lyrics.

I can only think of 7 songs by The Police that get radioplay, and Roxanne and Every Breath You Take are the only ones that get played a LOT.

Queen do have several songs on the radio but the only ones I can't bear to hear anymore is We Will Rock You and We Are the Champions.

I'd say the most overplayed band on the radio is Aerosmith, without a f*cking doubt. We're talking well over 20 songs (possibly more it's hard to tell when so many of their songs sound the same) that are in constant rotation, finding themselves on every rock radio format that there is and maybe 5 or 6 of them are actually good songs.

You know, when your first 5 albums are your only good ones and you have put out nothing but crap from 1979 until the present day and yet you're still playing in sold out arenas and are considered one of the untouchable god banRAB in rock music I'd say you're pretty damn overrated. If it weren't for Tyler I don't think anyone would consider Aerosmith anything more than an adequate Rolling Stones cover band, though they haven't even been that since the mid 80s.

Hell Steven Tyler's greatest contribution to the world isn't even music related.

So yeah, I'm sick of Aerosmith.

Toys in the Attic and Rocks are still great albums though.

Also while Zeppelin get the most airplay of any classic rock band where I live, Stairway gets very very little believe it or not.

Whole Lotta Love is the big one around here.
