Overnet Lite

Do Overnet Lite and the Overnet .52 Loader do the same things or is one better than the other and are they the same as Overnet Pro. And how do they give you faster downloads (do they cut you ahead of people in line). Thanks.

1. The default ports are: 4662 (TCP) & 4672 (UDP)
You can define that in Options --> Network.

2. Delete the Pro.dll and start Overnet, and then you will see the banner at the top of the application, but your downloads will still be pretty good. Else use the loader mentioned earlier in this topic or use the trick with the hosts file to get rid of the banner.
 
i have downloaded overnet lite and the crack to stop the banners. i am on a 600k b/b connection so i should have good d/l speeds. i was downloading a movie (cabin fever) and was averging 15-20 kb/s (not good). after waiting 48 hrs for the movie, it d/loaded 98.74% and stopped and to my amazement it was a flippin porn movie. i am so angry. overnet lite sucks in comparison to BT, i have never had that done to me and i have had better speeds on BT. so i am going to uninstall overnet lite and stick to what i know. i even had inside help to set my overnet up but to no avail and i've been instructed not to mention any names on who helped me with my overnet installation and trying to get top speeds

thx for ur tips to transfer emule temp files on overnet. works perfectly, except 4 that annoying but not too long hashing thing at the beginning.
i am a botherer and proud of it (not good english? i dont care).
could u tell me how u can see u are a validated pro user (im just curious)
my connection is 2400/384.
how many connections should i allow? the default value is set on 45, which seems quite small to me.

I was dlding a file, then i shut down my pc
after opening overnet lite again my download was gone?
He is is the tempfile list, but he dont download.....




Can anyone help me?

I have noticed that too. I hope a keylogger is not installed. I can't use Overnet til I find a clean version. I mean one without the backdoor/virus. I still have about 32 movies in cue to dl. Man this sucks. Hopefully someone will find out how to remove the virus and then post the "clean" "clean" version up. The Overnet that I have was supposed to be clean. Wtf man... It turns out that it isn't. I don't want to uninstall it though because I don't want to loose my partial dl's.
 
hey put your max connection on 150, you can lower it if you see problems, for more info feel free to vist our forums at kltforums, just hit the sig. we have more info there for you with visuals :lol:

i've been having some problems with overnet-lite
mainly with it
not connecting at startup or with it losing the net while going
if this happens even internet explorer doesn't work
so i just keep rebooting until it works
maybe the 100 download hashing doesn't help ?
the "checking registration" is where it normally goes wrong! (after 5 hours!)
so i changed my host file
even though i had the pro version enabled already
this has cured half my problems
& it now doesn't disconnect at registration
but it still sometimes disconnects for no apparent reason?
i got thru the whole night & got half a Gig on 256ASDL
mainly 25-28Kb/s
so its a start
i've even changed my username for it from -
MoReBeEr to MoReBeEr(Overnet Lite makes Emule suck!)

when you register EDONKEY/OVERNET it tries to connect to the edonkey/overnet official site to validate what you have typed.
If you block this access, you can type anything in for username and password, the ADs will disappear

So, edit (with Notepad) your hosts file

Windows 95/98/Me c:\windows\
Windows NT/2000/XP c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\
-or-
c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\
(you may need administrator access for Windows NT/2000/XP)

and add theses two lines:

CODE

Yep, I agree.

When I first started using OL, I was getting a steady 50 - 60 KB/s on popular fies, after some tweaking I got the speeds up to past 100 KB/s, but lately, the speeds have dropped.

I never used to see any speed below 25KB/s, but now I sometimes see 1.5 KB/s.

Biggest problem with OL right now, is that a lot of the shit lately is either corrupted or fake, or just never seems to find that last 1% on a 100% blue barred file.

I think that maybe some of the progs are purposely put up that way by our anti-pirate friends, as it only seems to happen on the really big files (half a gig or more).

Been using some Bit Torrent clients lately, and my speeds are almost always in the 120 - 140 KB/s range, but BT is only effective when getting new/popular files (I don't do movies, but it's good on movies too I hear).

Oh, I also tried Limewire a few days ago. What a joke. I set my up range to 20 KB/s, and to only take seeds from high bandwidth users, and I get 5 KB/s. Sure glad I did not include the dialups.

Funny thing is the little window thingy says "TurboCharged!". What if I was at "Battery Powered Hybred"?
 
Sharman Networks can add this function easily. Question is why he don't add it. Even he have some different link function.

If without ED2K link, eM/eD/ON isn't better than FastTrack. As a Chinese modder's word, he said: if he have any choose, he wouldn't write any propram based on eD/eM network. It is why sameone spread virus in it, He want to destory the FastTrack network and Force people to us eM.
