Purchased a civic from a friend and he was experiencing overheating. Doesn't take long after running the car to before it does. He's replaced the radiator, hoses, thermostat, radiator cap but not water pump. I've placed coolant in the radiator and reservoir. I've noticed that the resorvoir stays at max level but somehow low in radiator. I've checked the oil stick with car cold to see if coolant in there and in the reservoir tank and didn't see any coolant there. I've purchased a water pump to try that and see if that's it. I've been applying pressure to the lower hose and can here fluid moving there. I'm not noticing any coolant leakage on the ground and the car runs great until it starts to overheat which is within about 10 minutes or so of driving it. Not noticing loss of power or abnormal smoke from the tailpipe but one time drove it on freeway home and when I got it turned off saw a light mist of smoke coming from side of hood. Not alot, but could see it. Also smelled the syrup smell of antifreeze so I know it's somewhere internal.
