Overheated Honda Civic?

Just had the water pump retightened by a mechanic last week.

This morning my heater/defroster stopped blowing warm air and blew cold air. Brrr. I slowed down so that I could park my car at work and noticed lots of white smoke or steam coming from the car and the temp indicator showed in the H positioin!

Later, I filled it with water, drove about 6 miles when it went to the H position again. I pulled off. I waited and filled the radiator with water. It seemed to hold water.
Here is something interesting -
When I took the radiator cap off I saw some dribbling of water from another part (not the radiator). I put the cap back on and the dribbling stopped. AND...If I drive it it runs out of water.
Can you tell me what these two things are from?

I do not have money since I just spent close to $400 on the water pump and stuff. Yikes ..

well first where was it leaking water from? that needs to be fixed. the cooling system needs to be pressurized to cool and if its leaking.. it cant.

the heater problem sounds like you may have a stuck thermostat.
