Overboard Remake - WTF?

Okay, so clearly the Hollywood bigwigs have run out of ideas and are resorting to remakes, but Overboard? Really? And with Jenny Lopez, arguably the world's worst actress. Would you guys go and see this new version?

What with the recession an all,I guess they cant afford to pay the writers to come up with new ideas. It just seems to be remake after remake after remake its about time they pulled their finger out:p

"rebooted" :D

I loved how they called The Departed - not a remake of Infernal Affairs - but a "reimagining"...no - its a ****ing remake!!!

JayLo was brilliant in "Out of Sight", pretty bad in everything else but you've got to give her that one.
She's not a comedy actress, so why do they keep casting her as that?

Anyway, saw Overboard quite recently. Not a great film but made charming and funny because of GH and KR and their chemistry on screen. Plus nobody could look more sorry than Goldie in that huge dress. :D

Why remake it?
Is there a sell by date printed on films somewhere that audiences can't see?

I had actually forgotten she was in Out of Sight - that was a good film, she just seems to be trying her best to erase people's memories of her one good performance with all the dross she has come out with since.

Although Overboard! isn't the greatest film the reason it works is because of the chemistry between Goldie and Kurt - without it, the film would be a slightly creepy man kidnaps woman for no good reason! Jlo can't even manage chemistry with her own husband, so god help whoever she enRAB up acting opposite.

The number of remakes is totally ridiculous, both of old films and foreign language films - just leave well alone bigwigs!

I really liked Overboard. I thought they were both great. I loved the mocked up photos of Goldie Hawn's wedding day :D

I won't be going out of my way to see this.

All hearing about the remake has done is make me want to watch the original.

Kurt and Goldie are why the movie was so wonderful in the first place. Can't see the story having the same charm and innoncence without them or the era it was made in.

Bloody Hollywood suits. I really hate them, they just have no clue!

It's very sad.

It's almost like every story has been told and since the studios, like other industries need to keep on producing to survive, they have no alternative but to buy a story off the shelf.

The Goldie version will not be topped and doesn't even feel old when watching it.

This totally does not need to be done but I guess J Lo needed something because she hasn't had a hit movie since 2005.

Who says they have to stop at only one remake? I'm off to copyright the term"threemake" before someone else does!

Actually, I'll probably make it "3make," as it's cooler and edgier - being that it has a number in it and all. The terget audiences will love that. :D
