Outside habitat for chameleons?

Okay, so I live in Florida. The climate here is very humid and hot. My old neighbors had a chameleon that lived in an outside hut made in a tree. Their chameleon thrived and I was wondering if I should let my chameleon go in the hut sometimes, too. Of course it wouldn't be during the winter, or when the other chameleon was in the habitat. It would only happen in the spring and summer times. Is there anything I should look out for, or know? Thanks!! -Rebecca
