Outdoor sacred spaces - Pagans and Witches?

I want to bless/consecrate a really lovely little part of my garden so that it's sort of a more permanent place to perform my magick and rituals. I just have a few questions, my main ones being...If you've consecrated a certain part of your garden how do you know how much of it is consecrated? And does that mean that you no longer have to cast a circle when working there (unless for more serious magick and festival magick?)

I'm not sure if there's a certain amount of area that gets consecrated, but I was thinking that you could always mark out the space with stones or something.
And it can't hurt to cast circle anyway.
