I keep seeing this on here that once you start running, you'll wave to other runners you see on your route and ''welcome to the running community etc ....

But when I started in March, I was so excited and I'd do the head nod thing or flick of the hand move but people would either try to speed by you (just so they don't feel embarrased that they have to walk the minute they clear your vision) or they ignore you like the plague.

To me it seems runners are very snotty when they're outdoors so I'd like to know if it's just ''my town thing'' or are there actual people who will wave to you as you run by?
oh I'm not looking for a fellow runner to run with --I like my own time out but I just appreciate a ''hey'''every once in a while when I'm waving my hand off!
Flagger--didn't thumb you down, not sure why you did get that!

Maybe its the pain from all that "high impact" training makes runners crabby..............kidding

I find the riders a very friendly group and about 1/3 of the runners.

Usually when I am riding where I encounter the runners many nod many more do not. Its funny that riding on New Years Day i came on a runner on the bike path and she went out of her way to avoid eye contact. You would think that just being out in the cold working out would bring a level of camaraderie.

Maybe it is that pain after all...........

EDIT- I would NEVER think a thumbs down from you.
More likely some disgruntled runner who is always in a bad mood from constant joint pain.....................LMAO
