Outdoor dog help??

I have a border collie, so obviously i cant keep him indoors all the time so i always go to the backyard to play with him and walk him outside. But everytime i get him inside to be with us(my family), he always wants to go outside after awhile because he wants to be in his "territory" and mind his business. But this makes it harder for us to interact and he wnt be with me the whole entire time when im home so i dont really know what to do :/

please help

maybe when he wants out dont let him he will get use to it seen and then when you want him to go out take him out
