Hey All,
I feel ridiculous asking this question at my age. But I just got out of an 8 year relationship and I'm a little rusty! I was out with a very good friend of mine tonight. She is a woman and we haven't really hung out in a while, especially without my ex being there.
Out of the blue her boyfriend showed up... She didn't mention he was coming. No biggie, he's a good guy and I have no feelings for my friend. But shortly after that, her best friend also showed up. I didn't think much of it at first.
Her friend is gorgeous... like model gorgeous. It might just be the fact that my self esteem is shot after the train wreck i just went through with my ex, but I'd say this girl is out of my league. Hell, she's out of most guy's leagues.
But I got a vibe from her tonight that I have never gotten from her before. We were joking around like we usually do at first. After that I suggested that we all head to a local pub from my youth that is shutting down on Christmas Eve. My friend didn't want to go, but my friend's boyfriend and this girl( her best friend) did. So the three of us went to this bar minus my friend who I had originally planned to hang out with tonight.
It was there that thing got "weird". I am usually pretty good at telling when a woman is interested in me... But this is a weird situation. The signals are usually crystal clear... maybe clearer when even you're already with someone, but that is besides the point, cause now I'm not!
Next thing I know this girl pretty much invited me to my friend's cottage in the New Year... The friend who I was originally hanging out with's cottage (who didn't invite me!)... I know, weird. I actually thought she was kidding. Even weirder is that this girl is actually kind of dating my friend's (her best friend's) brother. So in retrospect it kind of makes sense that the normal physical signals weren't necessarily apparent.
Every time his name came up, she kept pointing out that they weren't dating , just sleeping together. This didn't really stick out at the time, but she kept talking about the lack of effort on his part in their "relationship", and kept joking about how she'd take me to certain events instead of him. I simply played along, again not thinking much of it at the time.
By this point my friend's boyfriend had left. Things didn't end there or I wouldn't be posting this question! She continued to bring up things we should do together... She brought up the cottage again... This time telling me I would need snow shoes for the weekend. At that point I realized she wasn't kidding about that!
On top of that... She told me to call her to go out for a drink, and that I shouldn't worry about how often I hang out with my friend (her best friend) because SHE is always up for going out for beers even if my friend isn't. I put the emphasis on the "SHE" because that is exactly how she said it!
I walked to her car, because that's just the kind of guy I am... As I went to hug her goodbye and wish her a Merry Christmas she kissed me on the cheek. Now I know this is not normally unusual... But I have known this girl for the better part of 5 years and she has never done that before...
Like I said, I am way out of practice on this kind of stuff... So please be gentle with your answers... But I got the distinct sense that our encounter tonight, as well as our conversation wasn't simply incidental... Is this woman hitting on me, or I am crazy?
Thanks,
G.
