do next? I have a 20 gb bite hard drive ( I know its from the dark ages) and I have installed programs that add up to maybe 1 gb. When I run the defrag utility it says I have 19 GB used up and only 1 GB free!

I only want to save my word process documents, turbo tax files.

How do I get rid of all the other stuff?

Just upgrade your HDD, 20GB is wayyyy to low you know.
But for now just get another comp plug in your HDD and format it and re-install windows.

ORRRR

Just re-install windows (this wipes clean the whole HDD)

If you have installed programs go to Control Panel>Add or Remove programs(depends on the OS you are running) and sort the programs listed by files size. If you have the CD or backed up the programs Uninstall programs.
2) Start>Programs>Accessories>system Tools>Disc Clean up
These should give you enough space. But dont go out and start deleting files youare not sure of.
