Was it due to specific people or events? What exactly was it that influenced him to write the books that he does. I have to read three of his books for my comp class and I'm not really into him that much but as i read the books i wonder what events caused him to write like he does.

A lot of things honestly. If you really want to know you should check out his book 'On Writing - A Memoir Of The Craft'.

I'm not into his fictional books much myself, but his memoir is wonderful.

I think it was all the acid he did when he was in college in the 60s that caused him to write like he does.....

I'm going to put up a link for you, and I know a lot of people don't like to be given a link, they want a cut-and-dried answer, all wrapped in a bow. But I think you're different, so:
http://www.stephenking.com
It's free, and as you explore there, you might learn a bit about what you want to know. Look at the bio, the FAQs, all of that...
Luck--
