Saying "white people lynch black people" would be racist, saying it about the KKK, no, because the KKK is a membership organisation and a subset of a cultural group, not a culture in itself, united by a hatred of black people and with a well documented habit of lynching black people.
 
The problem is that if you do nothing about it you will have to accept a permanent underclass with all the problems that it brings.
Throwing money at it is not the answer..we will always have poor and criminal sections of society but it neeRAB resources try to minimise poverty and crime.
 
I guess I should've understood NATO's position. After all, Jo Bennett recently accused me of racism for almost this exact same reason. I was saying something along the lines of "Arab guys beat their wives" in which I was refering only to the specific Radical Islamic guys who actually do beat their wives.

Except I didn't "deliberately" misunderstand NATO's position, and I don't think Jo deliberately misunderstood mine. Though Antonia certainly would have. Thanks for explaining it.
 
As someone that actually works with the Roma, I might comment that Gansao here is showing racist thinking.

I work with them (occasionally). And I dislike working with them (hardest clients to deal with). The shack towns are indeed breeding pits of crime and lawlessness. For those who grow up within this system, breaking the cycle is hard. But that has nothing to do with race or group - it has everything to go with the particular local community. I KNOW that under the same circumstances, persons of other nationalities will behave identically. The shack towns attract all those down on their luck, and if you drop immigrants into a shack town, they too will very likely show the same behaviour eventually.

I've long stopped thinking of them as Gypsies, or Roma... to me, they're "the ones from Kozeljeva 8a" shacks, no matter the nationality.

And if you manage to get them out of it, they have a perfectly fine chance of becoming normal. Plenty of those exist - but no one sees them. Why not? Because in a suit and with an umbrella, they look just like "one of the normals". An inverse no true Scotsman argument, essentially.

BTW, as a side note: I'm just denying racial foundations for accusations here. It's not the race, it's the local community. And these must be dealt with. By police+social services.

As for the Roma nomadic lifestyle - over here, you don't get nomadic Roma. You get third generation illegally settled Roma. Nomadic lifestyle is no longer present at all. Problem is, how to deal with those shack towns. You can't just tear them down, all you'll get is a swarm of homeless poor. But if you legalize them, buy off the property and allow them to build proper infrastructure, it senRAB the wrong message to other landowners who'd also like to build outside of the planned areas...

Yes, but when one comments on Gypsy practices, they're likely referring to the culture rather than the ethnicity. Because it's (almost) common knowledge that a race in general doesn't practice anything, which I'm sure Gansao is aware of. I'm pretty sure that Gansao is commenting on the Gypsy culture, which I'm sure he'd be commenting on no matter what color they are.
 
Most Jews in the US, Israel and Europe are substantially if not entirely of European ancestry.

Another problem is that no matter what resources you devote to a problem, it won't do any good unless the targeted group actually wants to change and improve themselves. Otherwise it's just a wasted effort.

And I really doubt anybody who's making $500 selling a single gram of cocaine is going to want to give up their business and get an official job. If they did then Mexico's drug cartel would be out of business.

There's nothing wrong with making an effort. But one has to recognize a lost cause and learn when to cut their losses and try something else. And right now these race neutral approaches aren't working.

Yes I am talking about two different communities..have you just realised this?
The Roma have the same problems all over Europe..they do not want to work..they want to make their living through begging,stealing and prostitution.
Consequently they become pariahs where ever they live.
Hence the squalor.
Gypsies in the UK have a similar culture but are far more successful because fools like you make excuses for them.

Some are. Some aren't. There has been a bit of controversy in Israel over the influx of a number of Jews from Ethiopia, long resident in that nation, long, as in centuries.
