his belly button, what is it??? The lump was very small, but after he had a "old man spell" he could not walk and began to take shots that were used for horses. He acted as though he was 5 instead of 14. As soon as the shot wore off, he was less frisky and way calmer. Soon the lump that was found beside he belly button began to grow. Before the vet said the lumps were fat deposits, but why would a fat deposit grow. Every since then, the lump has gotten bigger and now, as i stated before, about the size of a basketball. In the past, i researched and it said the it was a hernia. If any body knows what this, and why it is growing could you tell me! Thanks!
My mother does not want to take him to the vet, because she believes it is a tumer.

nope, that would be a tumor. You need to figure out with the vet if it is worth it to a 14 year old guy to have it taken off...

Good luck, give the old man a pat from me.

A basketball is a BIG ball mate? Your dog needs veterinary treatment asap! doesn't matter what your mum wants - its what your dog NEEDS! Explain to your mum that she could be prosecuted under the cruelty to dogs act if she doesn't take him to be seen by a vet! It could well be a tumour and if it is, your dog stands no chance of recovery or a longer life if he's not treated by a vet! Best of luck.

its most likely cancer my sisters dog had the same problem they took it to the vet to have it x-rayed then they put it in surgery now its fine. maybe you should do the same for the sack of your pet. good luck

If your mom won't take it to the vet then your lab will probably die. Tell her that.
