Other than the size of the file(s), what is distinctive about a "large file game"?

Apparently all the game sites offer them, but I've found only one general description! The people at 5000-games [dot] com write, "Send your inner adventurer off to explore exotic locales and solve puzzles." Is that a fair summary?
