Other than Bush 1, Clinton and Obama have other presidents displayed an ability

to research and discuss issues? These are the only three presidents I've seen that respond to questions with a depth of knowledge on the issue aty hand be they global or domestic.

They seem to be the only presidents that attempt to educate the masses as they respond vs tossing out ignorant slogans and one liners.

Your thoughts?

I seem to recall that during his debates with both Gore and Kerry, George Bush had command of the facts, figures and in depth knowledge. A knowledge that was certainly equal to or better than these two. Personally, I think every president I've seen in my life time has had an excellent grasp of the ideas and research done. The difference comes from their value system, their agenda and what they decide to do on these issues with this research that they have. Case in point, there is no way that Obama can justify his positions and his actions based on any research that has been done. He's dismissed the CBO on economic issues, his generals on military issues and scientists on scientific issues such as the myth that is global warming. So, you see, he can 'do the research' and 'discuss the issues', but his actions contradict all of that and instead he does nothing other than toss out ignorant slogans such as "our nations economy depends on our addressing health care". No it doesn't.
