The writings of St. Thomas Aquinas show a mind which is about as rational as
minds can get. The writings of Rene Descartes also show a rigorous
rationality. Both believed in God. Einstein believed in God. Religious
belief has nothing to do with rationality or irrationality.

I had some rude surprises on my credit car bill after renting a car in
Europe. We had picked it up in Hamburg after an over night flight and
dropped it off in Paris. I had opted for the no deductible insurance
because, the way the girl at the counter explained it, it was really
cheap, not the more than $24 per day that I was billed for. They also
charged me $95 for fuel. It was a diesel and I had filled it up about
20 miles from the airport where I dropped it off. I was billed for an
extra day of rental because I returned it about an hour later than the
time I had picked it up. All in all, more than $700 in extras.

Last time I rent from Avis.

I do not use travel agents. I have never been charged for a dent in the
wall nor have I stayed in a room with a dent.

I have only tried to pay cash for a room once and that was many years ago.
I can't remember the particulars. I have just been told by many, many
people that you can't pay with cash. I believe I did use my debit card for
the birthday party. You can do that.

People are just not that careful about language. I say I hate fried octopus
when I really have almost no feelings at all about it other than that I
don't want to eat it.

Yes, this is my impression also. An overweight, middle aged woman who is

Oh the memories, LOL. I once posted that I made a fabbo Phad Thai and the
trick was adding a dollop of Laura Schudder's chunky peanut butter to
dissolve in the sauce. It really made a difference and chopped peanuts are
an ingredient to begin with. You'd have thought I'd bbq'd a puppy. The
vitriol and hate was nothing short of mental illness.

Expecting the usual suspects will be crawling out from under their rocks any
moment now.

I am a protectionist / isolationist, I am not a fan of either party. Obama
is another George Bush, still spending trillions on useless war. Gave tax
break to the rich. Expanded gun rights... I do not see the difference
between the parties.

Also their is no such thing as unsecured loans for credit cards or bank
loans. The courts are bought off by the rich. The credit cards companies
and bankers will just sue for any default and the courts will just agree
and rule in favor the corporations. So if you think your going to default,
think again.

Wrong again, I know people that use cash only and massively in debt. They
loose their job, cannot make their payments. The credit companies close all
their credit accounts and have no choice to pay cash because they cannot
charge anything.
Those that find jobs their wages are garnished and have to get by on what
little they have. If their car breaks down they are truly screwed.

I cam frightfully close to my time a few months ago after a routine
medical procedure went bad and I ended up with a ruptured coronary

of the situation. I do remember thinking that it was a good thing that I
was sedated because it sounded like it was serious.

When I came to in ICU I was a mess. I was uncomfortable, in pain,
confused, week and heavily medicated. I have to say that I was feeling
down and pretty well resigned to the fact that my life had jsut changed
for the worse. From the number of monitoring beepers going off and
comments I heard the staff making, I had reason to wonder if I was going
to make it. I was feeling pretty down.

I think it was the third night I was in there that I was listening to my
MP3 player.... Jennifer Warnes singing Leonard Cohen`s First We Take
Manhattan. All of a sudden there was was a wave of relief and I
realized that everything was going to be okay.

What he was, in effect, saying was that quantum mechanics isn't
something random. He used the "He" reference to refer to, what he would

security.
His mindpower was way above we mere mortals. We cannot hope to even
comprehend what he perceived as the overarching power but I suspect he
had more of an idea of the natural order of things. He didn't see the
need to label it.
