Actually it's well known that the internet is like the wide west, and you
should give out any personal information very sparingly. If you are going pass
out your personal information like advertising handbills, just realize that
for the most part people on the internet or in usenet are not your friends. The
personal information that you pass around so freely will eventually be used
against you, it's just the nature of the beast. If you wish to chat with your
friends there's email, which is much safer but still has it's problems.

You getting upset and posting the way you just did Julie only adds fuel to the
already ongoing problem.

are typed... but i will continue to make the effort, Lee

So ignore it.

You could start by no longer perpetuating this thread, and just get back to
posting stuff about food.

But nevertheless true. To have so powerful a disdain for all tattoos
is exactly tantamount to having the same powerful disdain for everyone
of a race/ethnicity/religion. The inability to discriminate is a very
powerful indicator of bigotry/ignorance. I've seen many tattoos that
are absolutely attrocious, but on that point to say one abhors all
tattoos is tantmount to abhoring all Picassos because they've found
several that are terrible expressions... not all Picassos are
displayed because they are great works of art, many soley because they
are Picassos. I've found the majority of tattoos applied in recent
times tasteful. Many people get tattoos because at that point they
liked them, then time passs and people grow, so some have those
tattoos changed or eliminated. It has always been rather simple to
totally change a tattoo with additions and covering over and now with
laser it's a very simple procedure to have tattoos totally removed
with no pain and no scarring. One bit of advice, never threaten a
child not to get a tattoo but for no otherr reason that you 'hate' all
tattoos, that's the best way to ensure that they will get tattoos. I'm
sure many of you have teenaged daughters that have tattoos in intimate
places that you will never be privileged to knowing save an
unfortunate traumatic event necessitating surgery or autopsy. One can
only imagine the shallow/miserable relationships yoose 'haters' have
with your children, spouses, etal. If any of you suspect your teenger
is considering having a tattoo then that's the time to have a heart to
heart but without expressing hateful threats, and if you feel you
cannot dissuade then at least beg them to wait, and indicate that
you're available to discuss the type, the body part, and where to have
it done. Often some positive reverse psychology will cause a teen to
believe not doing something was their idea... and many times they
really don't want to follow their friends but they need an escape
route, a savvy parent can supply one unbeknownst... flies:
honey/vinegar. Personally I don't think anyone should get a tattoo
until they've sufficiently matured, very few under the age of 21
qualify, many never mature.

The deal I made with myself when I retired at 53 was that if I ever
found myself watching Jerry Springer or its ilk during the day I had to
go out and get a job. There were a couple of really horrible weather
days when I watched a special movie on television or DVD. Then there was
the time my wife and I got into a 24athon and watched series of 24 for
days at a time, sometimes 12 hours a day. Other than that there only
day time tv I watched was the news.

I always used to take the dog on the two mile circuit through the woods
behind me. It was almost two months after my surgery before I had the
energy to get back to the woods. I didn't dare go any further into the
woods alone in case something happened. Then the snow came. It was bad
enough that I was having trouble dealing with the cold, but it was too
much effort to trudge through a foot or more of snow.

However..... the snow is gone. The trails are drying up, so we are back
to the two mile circuit at least once a day.

The ones who like to put tats that are cartoons on them? If it gives
them a feeling of joy to look at them or express deeper thoughts
through the "cartoons", then who are we to judge their method of
expression as long as it doesn't harm us?

If you dislike them, then aim your eyes at something that doesn't
offend you.

Hate? What a waste of emotion to hate someone else's expression of
their likes by putting colorful images on their body.

I can understand that you dislike them for some reason.

Dislike and hate are two entirely different things.

Hate is way more intense and hate ALWAYS has a reason.

How does one "determine" that there is no afterlife? I've known a few
