Today, March 8, would have been the 36th birthday of my daughter, Cara.
She will be 21 for eternity. I miss her.

Sending gentle hugs and sympathy, Janet. We too have a daughter who will be
forever 21. Hold tightly to the promise that we will see them again. Polly

Janet Wilder,

She's in good hands.

There's a big crowd of angels surrounding her at all times!

My Mom and Dad included.

Not to worry!

The very best to you Janet. My younger brother Craig died tragically and
unexpectedly 31 years ago at a very young age. He's still right next to me,
giving advice. I'm getting teary as I write this.
Again, my best thoughts are with you.

She loved my bean burritos. When she was about 13 she told me that they
were her favorite food and she wanted them served at her funeral.

I really wanted to honor that request, but I hardly had the strength to
get through the day, no less cook.

Thanks for invoking a good memory.

An odd thing for a 13 year old to say, especially to her mom.

Prepare them whenever you're ready... arrange a nice presentation and
snap a picture... next occasion if you don't feel up to it you won't
need to cook them.

My daughter was quite a unique little person. We were constantly
entertained by her "Cara-isms" and we still laugh about them to this day
when an occasion arises that brings one of her sayings to mind.

No one else has asked for them to be served at their funeral.

I do have to make them for my son when I visit him or he visits here.
His older sister never asks for anything special for herself. Her girls
have requested chicken enchiladas when they come in April. I'm a doting
grandma, so they could ask for pheasant under glass, and I'd fix it for
them. :-)
