Sometimes I even put it in the food.

I know. And there are a lot of people very interested, and I
don't really know why anyone thinks that's a stupid thing. Why
not find it interesting.

Actually, they latch onto any big story and beat it to death until
people cry stop. They have a lot of airtime to fill. Last month it
was Charlie Sheen until people begged them to shut up about it.

Hey, I got up way early for the last big royal wedding all those
years ago. Still went to work, of course. Now I'm too old to
lose sleep to see it live, and now I have a DVR. And a DVR
extender. Heh.

Exactly! I want *all* the details, please.

Never heard of that one. What channel is it on?

It's amazing what's on the internet. My son was able to look up my
grandfather and got a lot of information there.

I started off married life repeating my childhood family traditions
which were to cook turkey for both Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Neither hubby or I like turkey enough to have it so soon after T-day,
so I switched over to roast beef and haven't looked back. I didn't
even realize that YP was a "tradition" at my house until my kids got
older and began making sure we had YP with our roast beef, especially
at Christmas.

I think you've just hit the nail on the head there... Millions of other
Americans/Canadians must also have British ancestors and/or relatives - so
a considerable amount of those people having an interest in British Royal
weddings wouldn't surprise me in the least.

However, IMHO, there's no more media-hype about British Royal weddings
than there has been about the 'private goings on' of the various First
Families in the USA over the decades. For instance, Jackie Kennedy's
'hair do' was adopted by millions of women around the world back in the
'60s and every item of clothing she wore (in public ) was either
praised or criticized by the Fashion Police world-wide. Heh, nothing
much has changed, IMNSHO.

Anyway, don't know about all the peeved off viewers/listeners over in the
USA/Canada - but my TVs (and radios) all have a "Power Off" switch.

Great theatre, i am fond of the pomp and ceremony. I bought a bottle of
champagne thinking i would get the good crystal out and have a drink or
2 while i watched but its on at something like 4 AM locally and i doubt
i will be able to stay up that late even if i wanted to.

Makes it a lot easier to watch the morning news-ertainment. I tape
4 hours worth and watch them in 1/2 hour instead of the usual 1 1/2.

But I have to admit I watched he piece on the wedding cakes on
yesterday's Today show. Cookies crumbled into chocolate? I'm
in.

Oh yes I can! Got no tv.

Actually, mom has one in her bedroom (aka the black hole) and she'll
be holed up there all day fer the wedding. Jinkies! I get a day off.

OBfood. Think I'll make some split pea soup or butter beans. Got the
ham and ham stock. Made sf's killer carrot cake last night. I'm
drowning in good food!

That number seems low to me, I think we've had 9000 posts about
it right here! Heh. It's not surprising that people would be posting
mostly about the wedding on news sites since that's all they've
covered this week, just about.

Definitely. I'm not talking about the wedding itself. I know people
are much more interested in the actual wedding. Even me!

Ha, I do the same thing. I get the highlights of the news, some
segments are interesting/informative, but who could sit through
4 hours every day. The past weeks and now this week especially,
ZZZZZZZIIIP. Really, I don't care about seating plans and
commemorative plates.

I did finally watch two royal segments for the first time yesterday,
hats and cake. Funny.

Compare them to the awkward strangers his parents were when

It's certainly not their fault the media's gone mad over their wedding.
