Not sure I understood your situation, but I saw landline/bluetooth
earpiece. Did I get the gist? What brand was it? Have you ever seen
a bluetooth earpiece that works with a computer? It seems like a no
brainer for some company to come up with one that works on a computer
with bluetooth technology! Not everyone is a gamer, so they don't
need stereo and a bulky headset.

Yeah - but what if it's a relative of some kind. Would you say
nothing this time? Chastise the person in private? Just never invite
again? That's hard to do esp. when it's, say, the spouse of a
relative or an offspring who is the caveman.

I have put up with some pretty boorish types, only because it would
cause a family war if I chewed out the culprit.

You can have backup
Battery Backup Unit (BBU):
This device is usually installed inside close to the ONT and an available
electrical outlet. The BBU provides power to the ONT and also battery power
if the power goes out (for emergency communication). The ONT requires power
from each residence since the FiOS network is fiber optic, power cannot be
transmitted like with copper lines.

my phone is for work so it stays on most of the time, that is before it
started dying... but when at dinner/with friends.. or in a meeting it goes
on vibrate or gets turned off depending on place and how long, Lee

Some people do get offended when text messages or e-mails are not answered
INSTANTLY. They start playing the passive-aggressive "are you avoiding me?"
high-school bullshit games. Then some of them post to Facebook, "I hate it
when people avoid me and then lie to me about it. I know you're lying."

(Theoretically, of course...not that *I* have ever observed such a thing...)

Ahhh, I thought you were stating your real feelings on the issue. Its

Sure, thieves have always been one of the most resourceful classes on
earth. In some places, they have to be to avoid being put to death,
having a limb cut off or being put into prison.

I think by now you must understand that I have no tolerance for
thieves. I've always worked hard for what money or possessions I have.
It angers me to no end when some low-life thinks they can relieve me
of them on a whim.

Back them cell phones were expensive and cell phone use was expensive.
It was a bit a bit of a status symbol to have one and to be able to
afford to use it. These day, everyone and their uncle has one and they
are much cheaper to use. It is just bad manners, and they are all too
common.

I pay $5 per month for 250 texts (I use about 10) so I can be a good

Do what on public property, put up a satellite dish? The Federal
government will kick your landlord's butt for you if he tries to prevent
you from putting up a satellite dish. The same regulations apply to
government-as-landlord.

we got rid of our land line a few years back saves money, disturbs sleep
less, and less numbers for friends and families to record and remember,
just once again one less thing to pay/deal with, Lee

I detest call waiting. I have an answering machine so I can avoid
voicemail. I have two land lines; the second rings if the first is
busy. I started that before call waiting became available and kept it.
Voicemail is acceptable if I don't answer, but if the line is busy, I
want the caller to get a busy signal sl he'll know to try again. Going
to voicemail for a busy line is a phone-company ploy to charge for
more completed calls.

make sure of what your agree ment is so that you don't lose your minutes,
might be as simple as adding a few more minutes, but i have read where
people have lost them because they didn't repurchase in some period of time,

I made the choice last year to go 'cell only' and ditched the land
line. I actually like it better that way. I only get calls when I
want to because I can turn the phone off or just let it go to voice
mail or missed calls. I don't get telemarketing calls, I don't get
any spam texts either. I have only given the number out to a choice
few and my old phone number I still give out if I need to 'register'
on a website or something ( I have an email address that is strictly
for on line stuff as well so I don't get spam on my main email)

I bought one of those pay as you go phones and, as little as I use it,
the $100 I set it up with initially has lasted me over a year.

Since I used to pay $45/mo for my land line through comcast, I've
saved a bunch of money too.
